Less Space, More Power: How the PortionPac® Mini Carton System Is Changing the Way Facilities Clean
What if your entire daily cleaning supply fit in a shoebox — and still covered 528 quarts of usable solution? That’s not a hypothetical. That’s the PortionPac® Mini Carton System, and it’s one of the smartest upgrades a facility can make to its janitorial program.
At RMS, we carry PortionPac® because the results speak for themselves: less storage space, less chemical waste, less time — and more clean.
What Is the PortionPac® Concentrated Cleaning System?
PortionPac® has been pioneering smarter cleaning for 60 years. Their philosophy is simple: Less is More™. By offering super concentrated, pre-measured cleaning solutions in color-coded Pac® brand pouches, PortionPac® eliminates the guesswork, waste, and bulk that comes with traditional ready-to-use (RTU) products.
The standard PortionPac® cartons — already a fraction of the size of RTU alternatives — offer up to 528 quarts of usable solution per shoebox-sized package. That’s more than 10 times less storage space than an equivalent ready-to-use product. For facilities managing limited supply closets, that difference is game-changing.
Introducing the Mini Carton System
Building on that foundation, PortionPac® developed the Mini Carton System to serve an even wider range of operations.
Whether you run a single small location or manage a large multi-site portfolio, the Mini Carton gives you the flexibility to match your distribution needs precisely. Each Mini Carton contains 24 or 30 individual Pac® brand pouches — making it easy for janitors to take just what they need, mix on the spot, and keep moving.
The result? Just-in-time mixing for maximum efficiency. Janitors can refill solution bottles at the nearest water source rather than making repeated trips back to a centralized supply room. Less travel time. More square footage cleaned per hour.
The Full Mini Carton Lineup
PortionPac® Mini Cartons are available across their most popular product lines, covering every daily cleaning need:

| Product | Pouches per Mini Carton | Yield |
|---|---|---|
| 102® ScrubPac® All Purpose Cleaner | 30 | 30 quarts or 30 two-gallon buckets |
| 104™ ScrubPac® All Purpose Cleaner | 24 | 24 quarts or 24 four-gallon buckets |
| 232™ Germicidal Cleaner | 30 | 30 quarts |
| 404™ NeutraPac® Floor Neutralizer | 24 | 24 four-gallon buckets |

The 1832™ MopPacLite® is especially worth highlighting for facilities using trigger sprayer mopping systems. Pre-measured for 32-ounce spray containers, it lets janitors refill on the go — no detours, no downtime, no over-diluting.

At Riley Maintenance Systems, we’re always looking for innovative solutions that make cleaning more effective, sustainable, and efficient. One of the latest breakthroughs we’re proud to feature is Betco Push — a probiotic cleaner and odor eliminator that works on a microscopic level to deliver long-lasting results.
What Makes Push Different
Unlike conventional cleaners that only remove surface soils, Betco Push uses natural, non-pathogenic bacteria that continue working long after you’ve finished cleaning. These probiotics digest organic matter such as grease, body fluids, food spills, and other odor-causing residues — leaving surfaces cleaner and fresher for longer.
Push doesn’t just mask odors; it eliminates them at the source by breaking down the organic material that causes them. The result is a truly clean, odor-free environment — ideal for restrooms, drains, carpets, floors, and more.
Proven Performance in Action
In Josh Enfield’s Betco demonstration video, you can see Push in action — tackling tough organic buildup and delivering noticeable improvements in cleanliness and odor control. Whether it’s used as a daily cleaner, a drain maintainer, or a carpet spotter, Push provides measurable results you can see and smell.
Environmentally Responsible Cleaning
Push is part of Betco’s commitment to green, sustainable cleaning solutions. Its eco-friendly formula reduces chemical load while improving performance, helping facilities maintain healthy, safe environments for staff and visitors alike.
Where to Use Betco Push
- Restrooms: Eliminate lingering odors in urinals, toilets, and grout lines.
- Carpets: Remove organic stains and deodorize fibers.
- Drains: Keep pipes clear and odor-free with regular maintenance.
- Floors and Tile: Break down grease and soils in kitchens, locker rooms, and more.

From CleanLink, here is some additional information about the new GHS label changes to the chemicals that we use.
After the changes and training that we saw before December 1 2013, OSHA is now moving forward and using the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) in the United States for standardizing the labeling and classifications of chemical hazards. Employees were trained and now the emphasis is on the actual labeling of the chemicals, as well as the creation of new Safety Data Sheets (SDS) by the manufacturers. These changes must be completed no later than June 1, 2015; although it’s expected to come much earlier than that.
Scott Warrington of Cleaning and Maintenance Management magazine wrote a very informative article for those that are interested in these changes, and provides details of what to look for in the new labeling of their chemicals: Following Up On GHS — What’s Next?
If you have any questions about GHS or any of the changes that will be made, contact a representative from RMS! We have all gone through the training multiple times and will be happy to answer your questions or help you with the new documents that you must have on site for safety purposes.
As we know, it is very difficult to categorize disinfectants as “green,” as they are killing microorganisms and may have a part in creating bacteria that is resistant to specific chemicals. The Environmental Protection Agency is looking to change this, as more disinfectants with “greener” active ingredients are being created and introduced to the market. These include products that use hydrogen peroxide as an active ingredient to clean and disinfect.
Design for the Environment (DfE) Disinfectant Changes
As the industry moves forward and technology changes, we should see many new products that will meet the EPA’s guidelines to be considered as “green” disinfectants. As your RMS representative about hydrogen peroxide based disinfectants today!
